What is Youth Reader's Theater? It's a way to involve all child actors (3rd through 8th grade) in reading aloud. Reader's theatre is a form of drama with actors using their voices and upper bodies to convey various roles in a script through reading to an audience. No experience or auditions required! It differs from a play in that parts or roles are read rather than memorized. Actors will stand behind or sit in chairs and use techniques such as vocal and facial expressions as well as hand and arm movements. Small props will enhance the child's character. In Youth Reader's theater, actors "perform" by reading scripts created from grade level plays or stories; get ready for lots of laughs! Beverages and snacks will be available. Cost $5.00.
